Visitors enter the plaza by first crossing over a bioswale. A water feature sits at the center of the plaza and guest sit on the seat wall around it. A wooden pergola provides shade, shelter and a sense of arrival to the garden.

The Hart County Botanical Gardens is a small public garden in Hartwell, GA. The garden features a whimsical aesthetic and even hosts an annual fairy gnome garden parade. David Evans and I collaborated while serving as graduate assistants for the UGA Archway Partnership. We collaborated at every stage, sketching out ideas and combiningĀ them into one plan. Some of my specific contributions can be seen in the pergola entrance and the small seated area along the walking path. When rendering the design, I built a 3D model of our design in SketchUp, then rendered in LumionĀ and David used the model to create the plan view graphic.

Sitting area along the walking path of the entrance with a circle window to look into the garden. A robust conifer garden along the walking path.

The walking path ends at a loop displaying local artwork.

My original concept sketch and reference images featuring whimsical elements to match the annual fairy gnome event.

Final design concept. I developed the 3D model and David used the 3D model to render the final plan.
